AI at the Core： What We Learned at Oracle’s Analytics & Data Summit 2025

I recently attended the Oracle Analytics and Data Conference (April 8–10) at Oracle’s Redwood City campus. While the focus was on Oracle’s Database and Analytics Platform, the dominant theme was Artificial Intelligence—specifically, how Oracle is embedding AI across its analytics ecosystem.

The key takeaway? Oracle is investing heavily in AI, and its analytics platform is a major gateway to that innovation.

Oracle’s approach emphasizes native AI capabilities. A phrase repeated often was “Bring the algorithms to the data.” Instead of moving data to external AI platforms, Oracle integrates AI directly into the systems enterprises already use. This includes embedding AI features into tools like Oracle Database 23ai.

Oracle’s open framework also stood out. While it supports popular AI models from Cohere and Meta, companies can also bring their own models—whether third-party, industry-specific, or internally trained.

One of the most talked-about advancements was “AI Vector” support in Oracle 23ai. This feature allows the transformation of unstructured data (images, music, speech, text) into vector formats and integrates them into any schema. It opens the door to advanced machine learning, NLP, and image recognition directly within the database, enhancing the performance of large language models.

Despite the excitement around AI, Oracle and several keynote speakers stressed the importance of responsible use—especially around data security. They emphasized caution when using third-party models and reiterated Oracle’s commitment to data protection through its secure platform architecture.

This was my first time at the conference, and I was impressed by the caliber of the speakers—Oracle senior project managers, ACE professionals, and industry experts. My favorite sessions were the unstructured Q&As, which allowed for open dialogue on cutting-edge AI topics. Hearing from pioneers in the field gave me a deeper understanding of where AI is headed and its growing importance.

The Oracle Analytics and Data Conference this year made it clear: AI is no longer on the horizon—it’s here, and it’s transforming how we manage and interact with data.
